Welcome to Coastal Bend Aviation, the premier computer based testing center for South Texas.

Coastal Bend Aviation is a computer based testing center providing a quiet and comfortable environment for your professional testing requirements. Coastal Bend Aviation provides computer based testing for FAA exams from private pilot through ATP. We also provide exams for various professions ranging from Meteorology to Cosmetology.

Military Competence Airplane (MCA) or Military Competence Helicopter (MCH)

The military competence exam contains 50 multiple-choice questions. You will have 2 hours to complete the exam, however, most pilots complete the exam in less than 30 minutes. The passing score is 70%. You may take the exam 2 years prior to your winging date as the certificate is valid for 24 months. After you take the test, you will meet with Dennis Bazemore to obtain your Certificate.
Make an appointment for your FAA exam. (If you decide to make an appointment on the same day that you want to take an exam, please call the office first to make sure that there is an available time slot.)

All other exams (non-FAA exams) must be scheduled via LaserGrade's central office registration at (800) 211-2754.

NOTE: The Park Tower building doors do not open until 7:30am on business days. If you arrive for your exam after this time and the building doors are locked, please call the office telephone number to gain access to the building.
